Spotlight Portraits 2002 - 2005 This series began as an exploration of contradiction. Portraits are defined by identity. Can a portrait still be a portrait with the identity intentionally erased? Subjects were stood for several minutes in low light environments with adjacent porchlights, streetlights and spotlights. All effects of light such as over and underexposure are created in camera.
